Jalsa Musleh Maud Day 2020

In 1886, the Promised Messiah asabbreviation for "Peace be upon him" undertook a spiritual journey to Hoshiarpur, India that lasted forty days and forty nights. During this journey, he would often find himself immersed in complete remembrance of his Lord and prayer. During this spiritual retreat, God the Almighty gave him the glad tidings of the birth of a great boy who would hold incredible secular and spiritual knowledge. He would go on to be the ‘Musleh Maud‘, or ‘The Promised Reformer’. This son became the second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad raabbreviation for "May Allah be pleased with him/her/them" and went on to fulfil all the prophecies that the Promised Messiah asabbreviation for "Peace be upon him" had received in Hoshiarpur. A part of the prophecy stated, ‘He will be extremely intelligent and understanding’ and that ‘His fame will spread to the ends of the earth’.

Annually, a convention is held by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, not to celebrate the life of the Promised Reformer; but rather, to celebrate the fulfilment of the prophecy of the Promised Messiah asabbreviation for "Peace be upon him". Individual regions throughout the UK hold their own conventions. Likewise, Jamia Ahmadiyya UK also held its own version of the event. This year the event took place over Zoom on the 21st Of December, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Following Islamic tradition, every formal gathering starts with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Daniyal Tasawar, who is currently in his sixth year, read out a few verses from the Holy Quran followed by a translation of the Arabic. Then Abdul-Hai Sarmad, a second-year student, recited some couplets of poetry relating to the glad tidings of the Promised Reformer. This was then followed by Shahzaib Nayyar from the Fifth year reading out the exact words that were bestowed upon the Promised Messiah asabbreviation for "Peace be upon him" over a century ago. Rana Abdul Muqeet, from the 6th Year, then delivered a speech upon the fulfilment of dreams and prophecies which were fulfilled during the life of the Promised Reformer raabbreviation for "May Allah be pleased with him/her/them".

This was followed by an English Speech delivered by Mirza Usama Bashir, also a sixth-year student, who spoke about the journey the Promised Reformer raabbreviation for "May Allah be pleased with him/her/them" undertook from Qadian to London in 1924. Finally, Mansoor Zia Sahib, a lecturer at Jamia Ahmadiyya UK who teaches Islamic Jurisprudence and an In-Depth study of the Holy Quran presented the wisdom of the second Caliph raabbreviation for "May Allah be pleased with him/her/them" regarding matters of Jurisprudence. The event concluded with some concluding remarks from the Principal of Jamia UK and silent prayer.
